# What does it measure?

The Inspection Time test measures a patient's visual processing speed - a foundational component of cognition.

# Test Administration

The Inspection Time test takes approximately 1-2 minutes to complete.

Before you begin your test, ensure your device is at maximum brightness and hold the device in landscape with both hands.

Remove Distractions
The Inspection Time test is measuring how fast you detect differences, at fractions of a second. It is important you remain focused on the test to ensure accurate results.

# Step 1

When you begin your test, your screen will appear white with two T-shaped lines, one twice as long as the other.

# Step 2

After a short period of time, the T-shaped lines will be masked. Touch the side of the screen with the longer T-shape.

foo

# Repeats Steps 1 & 2

The duration of time before the lines are masked is reduced as you correctly identify which line is longer. Repeat steps 1 and 2 until the end of the test.

# Results Interpretation

Test scores are in intervals of 17ms in order to be synchronized to the screen refresh rate of 60 hertz. Mean adult inspection time is 51 - 68 ms, and the typical range is 34ms - 102 ms.

Look for a change of two or more intervals (>34+ ms) from the patient's baseline for an indication of cognitive impairment.
